Look After Your Paddle

This is because nearby sea creatures will be your main source of food, and you’ll be able to hunt them well from the shallows.

Use Crabs And Fish To Get Food Early

It’s not too hard to find food in Stranded Deep. Along the shore, there are a lot of fish and crabs that you can eat early in the game. With just one stick, you can make a fishing spear as soon as you start the game.

Then, you can cook food over a campfire. If you want your food to last longer, you can change the campfire to a smoker. You can do these things on the first day you are in Stranded Deep.

Get Water As Soon As You Can

If food isn’t an issue, then water is. In Stranded Deep, dehydration is a big problem that can lead to early deaths. The Water Still is the most reliable way to get water in the game. It needs Crafting Level 2 and can be fed with Palm Fronds or Fibrous Leaves. When it rains, it will also gather water.

You can get water from coconuts right away, but there are only so many on each island.

Stay Out Of Deep Water Until You’re Ready

You’ll need to take frequent dips to stay cool, but don’t try too hard when you swim. You can find useful things and materials in deep water, but don’t give in to the temptation until you’re better prepared or at least have a raft.

The reason is that swimming can be tiring, and there are dangerous animals like sharks that won’t think twice about biting you.

Be Careful With Coconuts

Coconuts may seem like a dream come true because they can be used to get both food and water. Even though that’s true, don’t eat two coconuts at once. You will get diarrhea, which is one of the worst things that can happen in Stranded Deep. (And, uh, really, in general.)

This will make you lose a lot of water very quickly. If you don’t already have a safe way to get water, this could be the end of the road for you.

Don’t Waste Coconuts

Coconuts are not only a quick and easy way to stay hydrated, but they can also be more limited than you think. There are only so many coconut trees on each island, so if yours only has a few, you don’t want to waste any of them.

The parts of a coconut are useful and can be used to make a Coconut Flask, which can hold water and keep you hydrated when you’re out traveling.

Trees Don’t Grow Back But Yucca Plants And Palm Saplings Do

When you cut down trees on your island, they won’t grow back, but small Yucca Plants and Palm Saplings will. You should cut them down whenever you see them because you will need the leaves and fronds for making in the next few hours.

Don’t worry if you’ve already cut down all of your trees; driftwood shows up on the beaches pretty often.

Items Won’t Despawn If You Store Them Inside A Shelter/Container

If you store things well, you don’t have to worry about them going missing. Items won’t disappear as long as they’re under a roof or in the container on your starting island.

You can also find wooden containers that you can put up to three things in and even drag around if you don’t have enough inventory space.

Keep Your Eyes Open For Poisonous Animals

In Stranded Deep, there are many kinds of animals that will harm you. This is pretty much a death sentence in the early game unless you can stay refreshed and healthy for three in-game days. The player will get sick from snakes, starfish, and Lionfish.

Comb The Shoreline For Uncommon Materials

Even though there are a lot of natural things on your island, you can’t do everything with them until you find your groove. Some of the things you’ll need to build the more important buildings, like the Water Still, are harder to find.

Before you dive deep to look for shipwrecks, check the shores of your island for materials that may have washed up, like the valuable Cloth.

Build A Base And Gather Resources Before You Start Exploring
